Concrete
Concrete forms bulk of the construction. Concrete is formed by the mixture of fine aggregates, coarse aggregates, cement, and water. Sometimes admixture are also added in the batch to modify the properties of concrete in plastic or hardened state. Slump effects the work ability of concrete. If the slump is more then more workable is the concrete and if the slump is less then less workable is the concrete. The slump value for are recommended specified below:
- For road construction 20 to 40 mm
- For piers, slabs, parapet 40 to 50 mm
- Concrete for canal lining 70 to 80 mm
- Concrete for arch and side of tunnel 90 to 100 mm
- Normal RCC work 80 to 150 mm
- Mass concrete 25 to 50 mm
- Concrete to be vibrated 10 to 25 mm
