LAB TEST FOR DETERMINATION OF DIMENSIONS OF BRICKS
OBJECTIVE: To determine the dimensions of common burnt clay building
bricks
APPARATUS: Measuring tape
PROCEDURE:
1.
Take representative sample of 20 bricks.
2.
Remove all blisters,loose particles of clay and small
projections.
3.
Arrange the bricks lengthwise upon a level surface in
contact with each other.
4.
Measure the overall length with a steel tape (for non
modular bricks 4600+-80mm)
5.
Arrange the bricks widthwise upon a level surface in contact
with each other.
6.
Measure the overall width with a steel tape(for a non
modular bricks 2200+-40mm).
7.
Arrange the bricks height wise upon a level surface in
contact with each other.
8.
Measure the overall height with a steel tape(for non
modular bricks 1400+-40mm).
