Reinforcement Steel

Reinforcement is given in the structural members to provide the tensile strength to the structure. Reinforcement bar is 16 meter long when brought on site. Diameter of bar, tensile strength, elongation and the company manufacturing the steel bar is written on side of the bar. They are available in different diameters (i.e 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 28, 30 and 32 mm). They are of three types:

1. Mild Steel (Fe 250)
2. High Yield Strength Deformed Bars (Fe 415, Fe 415D, Fe 500, Fe 500D, Fe 550, Fe 550D)

NOTE: Here "D" represents the ductility factor. Now a days HYSD bars are being used more in construction practices.

                           

Note: Fe 250 means the bars have yield strength of 250N per sq.mm and same implies for other types of bars.
