Cover Block
Cover blocks are small blocks which are used to maintain gap between shuttering plate and reinforcing bars so that the bars can be binded by the concrete. If the cover blocks are not used then the reinforcing bars will project outside and hence, aesthetically will not look good. If the reinforcing bars will project outside then they will get corroded and hence, the structure will not be able to fulfill its serviceability and durability conditions. Depending upon the structural members concrete blocks are of different size.
